3-10-24// GOOD 7 Honorable

Michael Morgan

Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

GOOD: agathos (ag-ath-os'); a primary word; "good" (in any sense, often as noun):

1.     of good constitution or nature

2.     useful, salutary: producing a beneficial effect: remedial. promoting health: curative.

3.     good, pleasant, agreeable, joyful, happy

4.     excellent, distinguished

5.     upright, honourable

KJV - benefit, good (-s, things), well

HONORABLE

Living with honor reminds us of who we really are, who God is, and how much He loves those around us.

 Honor God

Ps 50:15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.”

Ps 29:1-2 Honor the Lord, you heavenly beings; honor the Lord for his glory and strength.

Honor the Lord for the glory of his name. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.

Prov 3:9 Honor the Lord from your wealth And from the first of all your produce;

Mal 2:2 “If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to give honor to My name,” says the Lord of hosts, “then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have cursed them already, because you are not taking it to heart.

1 Sam 2:30 "Therefore the Lord God of Israel declares, 'I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father should walk before Me forever'; but now the Lord declares, 'Far be it from Me — for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me will be lightly esteemed.

John 5:22-23 For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, 23 so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

1 Tim 1:17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

1 Tim 6:13-16 I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 which He will bring about at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.

Rev 4:9-11 And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

11 "Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created."

Rev 5:11-14 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing."13 And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, "To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever."14 And the four living creatures kept saying, "Amen." And the elders fell down and worshiped.

 Honor Each Other

Rom 12:9-13 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; 11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, 13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.

Rom 13:7 Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.

1 Cor 12:22-26 On the contrary, it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary; 23 and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor, and our less presentable members become much more presentable, 24 whereas our more presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked, 25 so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

Phil 2:3-8 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; 4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. 5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

 Double Honor

1 Tim 5:17 The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.

3-3-24// GOOD 6...Excellent

Michael Morgan

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God

Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose

GOOD: agathos (ag-ath-os'); a primary word; "good" (in any sense, often as noun):

1.     of good constitution or nature

2.     useful, salutary: producing a beneficial effect: remedial. promoting health: curative.

3.     good, pleasant, agreeable, joyful, happy

4.     excellent, distinguished

5.     upright, honourable

KJV - benefit, good (-s, things), well

GOD IS EXCELLENT

Ex 15:6-7 Your right hand, O Lord, is majestic in power, Your right hand, O Lord, shatters the enemy. 7 "And in the greatness of Your excellence You overthrow those who rise up against You; You send forth Your burning anger, and it consumes them as chaff.

2 Peter 1:2-3 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; 3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

Ps 150:1-2 Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse.

2 Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.

GOD DOES EXCELLENT THINGS

Isa 12:5-6 Praise the Lord in song, for He has done excellent things;

Let this be known throughout the earth.

6 Cry aloud and shout for joy, O inhabitant of Zion,

For great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.

A MORE EXCELLENT WAY

1 Cor 12:31-13:7  But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way.

13 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,  6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails

GOD MADE YOU VERY EXCELLENT

Gen 1:31 God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Towb: excellent

HE WILL USE YOU FOR EXCELLENCE

Phil 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Eph 2:10 For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

DWELL ON EXCELLENCE

HELPS US IN EVERYTHING

Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

KEEP OUR BEHAVIOR EXCELLENT

1 Peter 2:12 Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Prayer

1 Thess 5:16-18 Rejoice always; 17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Col 2:6-7 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice

Phil 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

1 Thess 5:16-18 Rejoice always; 17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

2-11-24//GOOD 3

Michael Morgan

Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

This is an instantaneous miracle (brand new life/born again) and a life long process of sanctification

Sanctified: hagiazo (hag-ee-ad'-zo); to make holy, i.e. (ceremonially) purify or consecrate; (mentally) to venerate:

1.     to render or acknowledge, or to be venerable or hallow

2.     to separate from profane things and dedicate to God

a.     consecrate things to God

b.     dedicate people to God

3.     to purify

a.     to cleanse externally

b.     to purify by expiation: free from the guilt of sin

c.     to purify internally by renewing of the soul

KJV - hallow, be holy, sanctify.

Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

2 Cor 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

2-4-24// GOOD 2

Michael Morgan

Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

GOOD: agathos (ag-ath-os'); a primary word; "good" (in any sense, often as noun):

1.     of good constitution or nature

2.     useful, salutary: producing a beneficial effect: remedial. promoting health : curative.

3.     good, pleasant, agreeable, joyful, happy

4.     excellent, distinguished

5.     upright, honourable

KJV - benefit, good (-s, things), well

Joy chara (khar-ah');; cheerfulness, i.e. calm delight:

1.     joy, gladness

a.     the joy received from you

b.     the cause or occasion of joy

1.     of persons who are one's joy

joy, rejoicing, happiness, gladness

KJV - gladness,  greatly, (X be exceeding) joy (-ful, -fully, -fulness, -ous).

In the English Standard Version of the Bible, the words “joy,” “rejoice,” or “joyful” appear a total of 430 times, compared with “happy” or “happiness,” which appear only ten times. Joy is lasting, and it satisfies the heart in a unique and marvelous way.

Ps 30:1 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime;

Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

Ps 16:11 You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy;

In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.

Neh 8:10 Then he said to them, "Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!

John 16:22 "Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
